Or they're doing a fantastic job of pretending.

I ordered a Spike calendar from them back in September, which they thankfully never charged me for (I believe their standard policy is to charge when they actually ship). It occurred to me this morning that I still hadn't received it and the new year is rapidly approaching! So, I tried calling the 1-800 number provided. Disconnected. Hmmm... okay, try the regular phone number provided. Also disconnected. As is the number they have as their contact for the domain registration. And the number they have for HR.

Now, apparently they were able to produce some Spike calendars, because I just ordered one from Spikestore.com (and they've been pretty good in the past about indicating when they don't have a product), so I'm not sure why they didn't at least try to fill their pending orders (or even notify us in some sort of blanket email that they wouldn't be doing so).

The thing that really gets me is that their website is still up and they're still taking orders... on things they likely never intend to deliver. If you're planning on ordering from Cedco (and they're the folks that have been producing a good portion of the Star Wars calendars, as well as the Spike, Buffy and Angel calendars), I highly recommend NOT paying for your order on the web and try calling them. You'll get a message that the number has been disconnected, but at least you won't be sending your credit card number into a potential black hole.

Most calendar companies ship in July, at the latest. So you could see if bookstores and places like Amazon still have them in stock. I know that all the Star Wars calendars made it out the door.

Still. This is kinda strange. What will the world be like in 2007 without a Star Wars calendar? Especially on the 30th anniversary!

I'm assuming LucasFilms will just find another manufacturer/distributor... but for things like Buffy/Spike/Angel, well, they were already on their way out and I doubt the marketing folks at Fox will be as likely bother finding a new place to have them done.

Our calendar kiosk only got in Ep 3 and the Complete Saga titles. Our sister store got a few of the poster calendars but that was it. I did notice that all of them were out for the launch of Ep 3 in the theaters.

It's bad enough having to tell folks there's no Farside Desk Calendar and hasn't been since 2002. What'll it be like if there's no Star Wars either?? Still, as Fen suggested, LFL will probably find someone else.
