Woke up this morning to a winter wonderland... ice and frost on EVERYTHING.
I snapped a quick picture of the frost on the trees from our back deck. Very chilly out there, even with socks on!

I just got done getting most of the wet, slimy leaves swept and raked off our driveway, stairs and porch (and put into the yard waste bin so they won't be making a repeat appearance), finishing only slightly ahead of nightfall. If you've never had the pleasure of dealing with wet, slimy leaves... well, they're heavy and icky and not easy to corral, even with a pushbroom. However, we're expecting snow tonight (Snow! Tonight!! Last winter we got no snow at all!) and the last thing I wanted was wet, slimy leaves all over the driveway with freezing temperatures and then snow on top of everything. We've had that happen before and it completely reinvents the word "slippery."

Even though it's decidely nippy out, there's also that lovely smell of impending snow in the air. Of course, if we wind up getting a lot of the stuff this year, it won't stay lovely for long, but I love the crisp, cold clearness of it when it first shows up.

I had an appointment with a bra-fitter from Essential Bodywear at Curves today... and for the very first time in my life, I've found an underwire bra that actually gives me support and *doesn't* jab me in the ribs, sternum, armpit or arm. Yay! I've ordered one (and only one, because they're expensive and who knows how well it will work after I've worn it for a bit), but it probably won't be in until around the first of the year, because apparently Oprah just gushed about them on her show a week or so ago. Hopefully this will be a bra I won't wind up hating (like every other one I've ever tried) as a necessary evil, and it did seem to be incredibly comfortable during the short amount of time I wore it.

Of course, being a properly fitting bra, it means that I'll have to get used to having Breasts of Doom... sticking out and getting in the way. There's a reason why reduction surgery is high on my list of things to do with potential future monetary windfalls.

I've thought about reduction surgery, but whenever I get to the part where I could lose sensation in my nipples, I back off.

But keep us posted about the bra. An underwire that doesn't double as a tourture device would be wonderful.

Oh, hmmm... you know? I'd never heard about that. I wonder how common it is... I've talked to a few different women who just rave about the procedure, which is why I'm still so enthused about the idea, myself. Might have to do a bit more reading on it, then!

An underwire that doesn't double as a tourture device would be wonderful.

That's how I've always viewed underwires: society's method for punishing those of us who are too well-endowed. :-p
