I have succumbed to the smelly side of the Force, and it's all [livejournal.com profile] telaryn and [livejournal.com profile] harmonyfb's fault! They just kept... talking about them! Evilly talking about them!

And a great big hug to [livejournal.com profile] queenofattolia who picked up some imps and bottles for me at the sale this week and mailed them up, or I wouldn't be sitting here smelling like some sort of pumpkin candle right now!(Yep, the first one I tried was Jack).

And boy howdy are these things strong... I've got to get better at opening the little imp vials, though, because I think I'm getting way too much of the stuff on my fingers (I couldn't figure out why it was still blowing me away so long after dabbing it on, when it occurred to me that my hands were contributing to the smell). Thankfully, I quite like the scent (and I think [livejournal.com profile] rackham does as well, which is the important bit!). Can't wait to give the others a try!

Yay! You got them -- hope none were broken or leaky.

So what's your favorite so far? I really loved Sugar Skull (sampled it in the store and was smelling my wrist all day) and my other favorite was Anathema (I love the name because of Good Omens) -- very bizarre but beautiful.

They all smell very different in the dry-down, don't they? I still haven't smelled all my imps (kept six out of the thirteen they gave me, mostly incensey and lavender smells, and one truly horrible cocoa/tobacco scent -- p-u!), and am still rotating through my .5ml bottles. BPAL is like crack...

Nope, none of them seemed to have leaked, though I could sure smell them the moment I opened the box.

So far, I've just tried Jack... a bit different, but I really liked it. And it actually did smell like a pumpkin candle when I put it on... eventually changing to smell like a cherry candle, of all things (this was several hours later -- we couldn't figure out where the cherry smell was coming from in the car, until we realized it was me). But there was definitely the scent of burnt wax in there, either way.

one truly horrible cocoa/tobacco scent -- p-u!),

Ewwwww... I can't imagine tobacco being considered a good or pleasant scent. I haven't had a chance to look over the extra imps you stuck in there, I want to read through their descriptions before I give 'em a try. And I can see what you mean about BPAL being like crack! I'm so excited to finally get to try these things...

I still need you to email me the URL. I tried entering what I thought you told me, but could not find the site. Looking forward to smelling you. :-)

It's just out at http://www.blackphoenixalchemylab.com (yeah, the URL is quite a mouthful... or keyboardful, I guess!)

So.... speaking of aromas I heard a rumor that you bought some Jones Soda Holiday Pak last year. What on earth did that stuff taste like? Inquiring minds want to know.

Yep! In fact, we still have a case of last year's Holiday Pack. Not sure what I'm going to do with it... I guess I should check eBay to make sure no one wants one for collector reasons (it's got a fairly low number -- something this year's packs don't have at all).

As for the taste? Pretty icky. I think the Mashed Potato soda would have actually been good if it had been sweetened with sugar instead of Splenda. The same is not true of the other flavors... even if they'd used sugar, I think they still would have been pretty vile.

I've picked up both of the Holiday Packs this year because I'm a glutton for punishment, because they had a few new flavors and the money goes to a good cause. I'll probably post something about them when I do... even if it just winds up being "Yuck!"

I'm really curious about the Salmon Pate soda, and even more about the Wild Herb Stuffing soda, since it appears to be unsweetened.

Hmmm... I'll have to take a peek through my LJ archives to see if I posted my thoughts about last year's Holiday Pack anywhere.
