Star Wars Week -- A National Celebration
May. 16th, 2005 08:27 pmSo, I was driving down to Oregon today, on my way to Vegas to see Episode Three on opening day with some friends... and on a whim I wore my Episode One Darth Maul t-shirt. At various stops along the route (gas stations and grocery stores), I have been greeted no less than five times by people I don't know (and most of whom were working at the time) not with "Hello" or "Can I help you"... no, they start straight out with "Three more days!!!"
The first time it happened, I actually had to pause for a moment to figure out what in the world the guy was talking about. I swear, the world is full of Star Wars geeks who are awaiting Thursday with more anticipation than Christmas.

Date: 2005-05-17 10:32 am (UTC)Hey - another person who still has Steeleye Span! I must update my tapes to CD as I can only listen to them in the car - and they are now almost unlistenable!
When I was Very Young I saw them in concert and Maddy Prior came up and danced with us in the aisle of the balcony - my friends and I were the only people in the balcony dancing - everyone else up there was too staid! You see - I've never forgotten!
