Earthquake!!
Jul. 29th, 2008 11:48 amI was just typing up an update about the last two days, when it started here... it lasted for a good long time and was definitely more of a side-to-side type of shaker. According the USGS, initial estimates are that it was a 5.8, although it was centered about 20-25 miles away. It was the sort that tends to encourage a bit of seasickness, and the feeling after it's over that everything is still moving.
Fun! It's been ages since I've been in an earthquake... since I always seem to have just left the area when we have them back home.

Date: 2008-07-29 07:12 pm (UTC)We shook and rolled pretty good here. I love after shocks, but having felt any yet. :( eventhough there's been many of them.

Date: 2008-07-29 07:23 pm (UTC)Yeah, we haven't felt any of the aftershocks either, but we got a pretty good shake... sort of rolling at first, then a sharp jolt followed by a bit more rolling. Very funky, especially I do usually tend to miss these things (although I was in quite a few earthquakes as a child on Guam).
