It came back on just after Noon!!! It's already up to 66 degrees in the house and the fridge is already cold enough to move the food from the coolers. About half the stuff in our kitchen freezer started to thaw, so we'll be making chicken stock tonight and we tossed some of the things that have been in the freezer for awhile, anyway, as well as some of the pre-prepared stuff that doesn't store well at refrigerator temperatures.

All told, we were without power for about 60 hours.

We have lights!!! And television!! And computers!!!!!!

*contented sigh*

Now I'm off to wash my hair and afterward... I'm going to use my blowdryer.

Isn't it amazing how you don't appreciate the simply, everyday things until they are gone? I went to start my car Saturday, and where there once was a clutch, instead it was like stepping in a bowl of mash potatoes. There was no place I couldn't get my walking or bus, but suddenly I felt so helpless without my car.

2 1/2 days without power must incrediably fustrating. Have fun switching the lights on and off.

I'm so glad you've got power back. Being without power can be kinda fun for a little while -- candles and a nice fire -- but it does get old.

Oh, how I remember that feeling of happiness and contentment after many days without power.

At least you had internet access!

Go stand in a room and turn the light switch on and off. It's amazing how fun that is!
