1) How old do you wish you were?

28. No real reason, but it seems like a good age to say. Although, really, I rather like the age I am now.

2) Where were you when 9/11 happened?

Asleep. IIRC, [livejournal.com profile] rackham woke me up just after the second tower was hit.

3) What do you do when vending machines steal your money?

If I'm somewhere I can find someone with some sort of authority over the vending machines, I'll go complain. Otherwise, I'll shrug and move on.

4) Do you consider yourself kind?

Yes.

5) If you had to get a tattoo, where would it be?

I've thought about this one a lot... my mom has been bugging me to get a tattoo ever since I turned 18. Even though I've heard it's one of the more painful areas to have it done, I'd still probably choose to get a Chinese-style dragon wrapped around an ankle.

6) If you could be fluent in any other language, what would it be?

Hmmm. Probably German, since apparently it's hidden somewhere deep in my brain already. I took a few years of it in high school and college, though I can no longer consciously speak it... I once had a rather lengthy chat with a German tourist at Yellowstone without once realizing I was speaking German, until he asked me where I was from because he couldn't quite place the accent. I've also been known to speak German to Rackham at odd times when I'm not thinking about it.

7) Do you know your neighbors?

Yep! We know everyone in the cul-de-sac, though we do know some of them better than others.

8) What do you consider a vacation?

Getting away for bit, though not necessarily away from it all. I'm pretty flexible on vacations... they can be as simple as driving out to the coast or up into the mountains around here, or as big as flying to the other side of the world. Actually, I also think it's possible to have a vacation at home... hmmm. I guess a vacation is having Rackham with me, when it comes right down to it.

9) Do you follow your horoscope?

Nope.

10) Would you move for the person you loved?

Yes.

11) Are you touchy feely?

Not terribly, though I'm quite fond of hugs (which is one of the things that really sucked about being in a car accident... it was quite awhile before I could be hugged, and it was a time when I really wanted them).

12) Do you believe that opposites attract?

As a rule? No. Can it happen? Yeah. Though I suspect there's probably going to be some sort of underlying commonality that isn't immediately obvious, when it does happen.

13) Dream job?

Librarian.

14) Favorite channel(s)?

Food Network, HGTV, BBCAmerica

15) Favorite place to go on weekends?

I'm rather fond of staying home... but it's sometimes fun to run out to the coast. It's about a four hour drive, so it's definitely a weekend sort of thing to do.

16) Showers or Baths?

Showers. Though I do enjoy taking baths if the tub is big and deep (unlike the horribly shallow one we currently have)

17) Do you paint your nails?

Nope. I bit my nails until I was about 22, when I finally just decided I wanted to stop. Nail polish always feels heavy on my nails, drawing attention to them and I find, even today, that I'll nibble on them if I've got polish on.

18) Do you trust people easily?

Yes.

19) What are your phobias?

Syringes (I find it interesting that this question gets asked right after the one about trusting people... heh). The needle part doesn't bother me, it's the actual syringe that's the problem and has been my entire life. My mom thinks it may be residual trauma from having several spinal taps as a newborn.

20) Do you want kids?

Yes.

21) Do you keep a handwritten journal?

Not anymore. My handwriting goes rapidly downhill after about a paragraph, and I type faster than I write anyway.

22) Where would you rather be right now?

I can't think of anywhere I'd rather be.

23) What makes you feel warm and fuzzy?

My husband. My friends. Good books. Brand new, newly sharpened, unused pencils.

24) Heavy or light sleeper?

Heavy, I think.

25) Are you paranoid?

Not any more than is healthy. Why do you want to know? ;-)

26) Are you impatient?

Yes. At least with most things, though I'm fairly patient when it comes to the long view.

27) Who can you relate to?

Geeks, SF&F fans, my friends

28) How do you feel about interracial couples?

Does anyone else think this is a really weird question? I can't say I have any particular feelings about it at all... no more than any other couple. I'm the product of a fairly long line of interracial marriages (my dad's side of the family started intermarrying Native Americans pretty much the minute they hit the shores of North America) -- I'm about 1/4 Native American, so I guess technically Rackham and I are an interracial couple. Never really thought of it that way before.

29) Have you been burned by love?

Nope.

30) What's your favorite pick-up line?

I can't think of one.

31) What's your main ring tone on your mobile?

"Hit or Miss" by A Newfound Glory. I have it set to play the Fruity Oaty Bar song from Serenity whenever Rackham calls.

32) What were you doing at midnight last night?

Watching the second season of "Goodness Gracious Me" on DVD and reading fanfic.

33) What did the last text on your cellphone say?

"Bake sale treats" with a picture of some cookies Rackham had picked up at a fundraiser bake sale at work.

34) Whose bed did you sleep in last night?

Mine!

35) What color shirt are you wearing?

Black, with a screenshot from the game Pac-Man on the front

36) Most recent movie you watched?

Since I don't think the "Archer's Goon" mini-series counts, I think it might have been X-Men: The Last Stand.

37) Name three things you have on you at all times?

I'm assuming this is when I leave the house... in which case: my keys, my wallet and my PDA.

38.) What color are your bed sheets?

I think the ones on there now are a deep, dark blue.

39) How much cash do you have on you right now?

In my wallet? Four dollars and some change.

40) What is your favorite part of the chicken?

Leg or thigh.

41) What's your favorite town/city?

Seattle.

42) I can't wait till:

JadeCon!!!!

43) Who got you to join LJ?

A lot of different friends, though I think when it came right down to it, it was [livejournal.com profile] queenofthorns who finally pushed me into it.

44) What did you have for dinner last night?

Parma Primo pizza (prosciutto, mushrooms, goatcheese, tomatoes, fresh basil and mozzarella on an olive oil base) and a Pagliaccio Salad from Pagliacci Pizza.

45) How tall are you barefoot?

I believe I'm still right around 5'7" though I haven't measured lately.

47) Do you own a gun?

Nope, though I've thought about it. I do own quite a bit of edged weaponry, though.

48) What do you prefer to drink in the morning?

Water.

49) What is your secret weapon to lure in the opposite sex?

Um. I really don't know... since it's been over 17 years since I've had to worry about luring anyone but Rackham.

56) Where do you think you'll be in 10 years?

Still in this house, though possibly having done some renovations to make it bigger.

57) Last thing you ate?

I was bad today and gave in to my Taco Bell addiction: Nachos Bell Grande with steak and a crunchy Taco Supreme. Taco Bell is evil.

58) What songs do you sing in the shower?

Lately it's been Great Big Sea, simply because that's what we've got loaded in the shower MP3 player. Without musical accompaniment, I'll usually sing some filk.

59) Last thing that made you laugh?

Um. Hmm. Something I read on LJ? It's a likely bet, at least.

60) Worst injury you've ever had?

Ha! Breaking my shoulder in three places. Yeah.

61) Does someone have a crush on you?

Yes, but I'm married to him, so it works out.

62) What's your favorite candy?

Canadian Reese's Peanut Butter Cups (they're made with better chocolate than the American version)

63) What song do you want played at your funeral?

I've never thought about it... flippant answer: "See You Later, Alligator" (hey, it worked on Red Dwarf).

For me? Probably some Oingo Boingo... "Stay" or "Only Makes Me Laugh" or "Home Again."

Since the funeral would be for those still among the living, I think I'd prefer something happy, upbeat and cheerful... though I couldn't say what without spending quite awhile rummaging through my music collection. Or maybe "The Things That Dreams Are Made Of" by Human League, since it's been a bit of a personal anthem since high school.

Only you would know Canadian Reese's are made with better chocolate (you Commonwealth snack food connoisseur, you).

Sigh. I haven't had Taco Bell in months.

Hee!

On the plus side, I can no longer stand American Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, which used to be a big weakness for me.

Sigh. I haven't had Taco Bell in months.

I have to let myself have it from time to time or I end up getting to a point where I'd willingly kill for it. So, I try to do it in a sane manner... and also work to recreate the food in a slightly healthier fashion at home. I swear they put something addictive in their stuff, though.

You do know Taco Bell is owned by the same company that owns KFC, right? Guess they've taken that addictive chemical that makes you crave it fortnightly and started spreading it through all their menus...
