I thought I could make it until the sun went down, but no dice...

Not that it's horribly hot out or anything, but once it gets above 70 outside with actual sunshine, it generally climbs above 80 inside the house, which is just way too hot for me. This particular "feature" of our house is great during the fall and winter (when it can easily get into the 70s in the house when it's sunny outside, without the heater kicking in), but not so much once we hit late spring or summer.

I'm kinda wishing I'd given in to the temptation of AC about three hours earlier, rather than retreating to the basement, because it's taking forever to cool down, and neither of us want to go upstairs at the moment.

And yes, I can hear [livejournal.com profile] rahirah and [livejournal.com profile] wildrider snickering from here...

Your house is really insulated well, huh? I dread being shut up with the AC on. Bah.

Sorry, but I'll have to join the snickering :)

But you can snicker back at my inability to handle cold - it's around 77 degrees (temperature thanks to online celsius fahrenheit converter) here today and I'm wearing a jeans and a cardigan.

Well, you do have much higher humidity than we do, and that always makes the heat more oppressive.

Oh, who am I kiding... BWAHAHAHAHA!

Hey, it got HOT this afternoon!

And I found out, about 5:30pm, that the timer on the heater in the dining room was still on automatic, and the heater was on high (because it was below freezing here this morning) so suddenly I've got an 85 degree F house.

Which means I've finally warmed up after being drenched to the skin at Sandpoint on Saturday.

Julia, nothing like being stuck in stop-and-go traffic, in soaking wet clothing.

It's actually a little cooler here today... but I'm ALMOST at the "turn on the A/C space. It's still in the mid-high sixties at night (it was only 91 today, and 86 tomorrow, whew, but back up to the high 90's by Sunday), and our house is usually pretty well insulated, so it stays cool most of the day then stores up all the heat for the night, ugh. So I haven't been sleeping well... but it's hard for us to break down and turn on the air before June. It just seems so... un-native.

Last night for the first time this year I was getting there too, it was so close and oppressive. But they haven't switched over from heat yet in my apartment complex, so...
