Gakked from [livejournal.com profile] curiouswombat and others.

Ten years ago – We were still living in Orem, Utah and were just starting to wonder if it might not be a good idea for [livejournal.com profile] rackham to think about moving on from WordPerfect (this turned out to be incredibly good timing). We were renting the best house for parties and were having some sort of shindig nearly every weekend (where we did wild and crazy things like draw on the sidewalks with chalk, drink lots of Toxic Punch (non-alcoholic, but very potent), sing filksongs until the middle of the night, and occasionally go haring off to Delta in the dark of night for no particular reason). I was running my BBS (Random Lunacy) and had been doing so for about five years at that point, as well as occasionally writing articles for magazines. On this specific day, I very likely would have been at the annual Bastille Day Party.

Five years ago – We'd been in this house for almost two years. I was Editor-in-Chief of an online game review magazine and spending nearly all my time chained to my computer desk. My hair was still curly and asymmetric, with streaks that had been bleached out and dyed electric purple. I still miss that hairstyle.

One year ago – One year ago today, I can almost guarantee I wasn't home. Last year I had a six month period where I was only home for an accumulated period of slightly less than a month. I'd been hoping to come up with some new projects to start on that year, but things kept coming up to drag me away from home (my mom's massive car accident, my grandmother's spinal problems, etc.).

Yesterday – was a pleasant day, beautiful outside with the house getting more and more organized on the inside. I spent a few hours working in the yard, pulling out bamboo and blackberries, went to Massage Envy for a massage (which I desperately needed, after all the bikeriding and weedpulling I've been doing in the past few weeks), then last night I drove down to Sea-Tac and picked up [livejournal.com profile] taradaktyl and her kids at the airport, coming back from their vacation back East.

Today – was much warmer, but still not too bad (75F or so out there right now). So far today I've had a piano lesson and had my teacher suggest that I think about playing one of the songs I've learned as prelude music at a church meeting sometime soon, just to get some experience playing with other people in the room. Did some laundry and a load of dishes. This afternoon I visited with a few friends in the area to see how they were doing and helped one of them assemble a very large storage unit from Ikea. Came home and sorted through several boxes of photos, separating them by subject and tossing duplicates (in some piles, we'd had FIVE copies of each picture).

Now – Typing this. I'm planning on running out to Michael's in a bit to see about getting some better means for storing the photos I sorted earlier... may get a frame or two for some as well. We'll probably also go for another 30 minute bikeride along the Sammamish River trail, this time starting in Woodinville and heading out toward Redmond. Possibly mow the lawn. Come up with something for dinner.

Tomorrow – Go to Curves, work on the yard, mow the lawn if I don't do it tonight. We'll probably go see a movie, since there are several out now that look good and we still haven't seen yet.

You'd make me feel incredibly lazy any other day, but today I was boxing and then had a dance class and am, in a bit, dragging myself to bed.

No, you still make me feel lazy.
