Freeing my dolls...
Jun. 13th, 2005 10:39 amYes, I did it... my inner child finally won out over my inner collector and I've been pulling my various BtVS dolls out of their packaging.
The dolls themselves are extremely well done (and they even picked up on some little details -- for example, Angel has the tattoo on his shoulder), although Vampire Spike seems to have a tan, for some reason. But the best things are the accessories.... Vampire Spike comes with a shotgun that includes two shotgun shells... and the cool part? The gun flips open and you can actually fit the two shells into the holes in the back. That is just... neat!
So far, I've opened and set up "Becoming" Angel, The Master, "Prophecy Girl" Buffy, Spike, Vampire Angel, Vampire Spike, and Der Kinderstod (which is almost too tall for the doll stand that came with it). There's only four left and I suspect I'll have those done later today.
Now I just need to decide if I really want to leave them on that shelf... they look great there, but it's also at the base of a bookcase. And now you're probably wondering why that's a bad thing... but you have to keep in mind, we get earthquakes here. I really don't want my nifty cool dolls getting wiped out by a mass of falling books.
When I get them all out, I'll see about taking a picture or two...

Date: 2005-06-13 07:25 pm (UTC)I so wish that Sideshow Collectibles sold the accessories separately, as well as putting them in with the dolls. I would love to have that shotgun to use with my regular Spike, rather than paying $45 for a Vampire Spike.
Man, I wish the Buffy ones had "real" hair, like a Barbie doll does. It just seems so wrong to have a female doll with sculpted hair. Even the 12" Qui-Gon Jinn had hair that was styled correctly, and it wasn't even a higher end doll.
