Goodness Gracious Me

Does anyone know of a place where I might be able to find screencaps from "Goodness Gracious Me"? My DVDs of the first three seasons arrived yesterday, so I've been catching up on a lot of the episodes I missed on BBCAmerica, but unfortunately making my own screencaps is not going to be easy (the DVDs are Region 2 and my DVD-ROM software/hardware are not region free).

Didn't know that GGM had made it to US. Has it been popular?

I don't know... although I'm guessing most people don't know about it, simply because of when it's on (BBCAmerica has it wedge in right after "The Kumars of No. 42" at 40 minutes after the hour... instead of on the hour or half hour). Although, that's probably not a horrible time for it, I guess... since I first stumbled across it after watching "Kumars."

It's been interesting, because I know I'm not getting all of the jokes (after watching GGM and "Kumars" for awhile now, I'd like to think I've moved from only getting half the jokes to getting 2/3 of them). I think it's still fairly accessible and very, very funny. Plus, I'm starting to develop a bit of a crush on Sanjeev Bhaskar. ;-)

The thing I've discovered while watching the DVDs, though, is that BBCAmerica is only showing us snippets from the show... I mean, the episodes are nearly half an hour long, and they've got the show crammed into a 20 minute slot complete with commercials. So ordering the DVDs from the UK has been well worth it.

Well, I'm glad you've enjoyed it. It all seems very familiar to me now, of course, but when it was first shown here, Asian people were delighted. It was just great to have a mainly Asian show on at peak time and very popular - so much so that there were white kids going round reciting all the catch phrases and so on.
