fenchurch | Fanfic Appreciation Week

To quote: "Post to your LJ each day at least one of your favorite fanfic authors and why you love them, their work, and why they need more appreciation."

I'm getting a late start, so I figured I would mention four of my older favorites (in particular, ones who haven't been writing for awhile (or at least not in any of my fandoms)).

trollprincess doesn't seem to have written anything for a few years (though I could be wrong -- I'm just going by what's on her fanfic archive), but really should (we need more "Tuesday's Child"!!!!). Everyone should definitely read "Ghost in the Shell" -- it's a bit different, stylistically speaking, but that's one of the things I love about it.

I actually know who Leadlight is on LJ, but I'm not sure she wants her fanfic life linked to her LJ life... however, she does have a fanfic archive. She's another one with a rather good WIP that hasn't been updated in ages . She wrote primarily Spikefic, with an emphasis on Spike/Buffy (and a nice side helping of Giles/Anya).

Nowadays,

codyne mostly writes fanfic for a show I don't watch... but once upon a time, produced some great X-Files and BtVS fic. If you get a chance, check out Rat & Fox -- for the Spike-fic, if nothing else.

I have no idea if Ariana is on LJ, and looking over her fanfic archive she appears to have moved on to "Space: 1999" fanfic. She actually wrote about some rather difficult subjects in her Spike/Buffy fic, but handled them with more depth and in a much more satisfying and interesting way than they did on the show. I love the way she writes Spike... and, even more, I love the way she writes Buffy.

And apparently, my version of "appreciation" comes off looking an awful lot like begging for fic updates.
