I should be starting on my way home on Thursday... we've got things arranged for my grandmother's youngest sister to come up for a few days until my dad can get here next week. So, I've started working on getting the house ready... my Aunt Hannah may be younger than my grandmother, but you'd never know it to look at her. Technically, they're half-sisters, and it's amazing what a difference one set of genetics can make... fifteen years difference in their ages and you'd never know it. So, she'll be help, in that she hasn't just had major spinal surgery and can get around a little easier, but it's a good thing it's pretty much just for the weekend.

Oh, hey... it's apparently a balmy 10 degrees out there right now, according to the news. I know, not as bad as some places, and we haven't had any new snow since I got here... I hope all my friends in the Eastern US are doing okay after getting slammed this weekend!

Extreme weirdness today at Curves... the lady working behind the desk was convinced I had some sort of accent, but couldn't place it. I didn't think I sounded all *that* different from people who live in Idaho.

Just got done watching tonight's "Medium" -- this show continues to surprise me. The only thing it's missing is some sort of story arc... it's a bit odd being hooked on a show without one. I'm not used to that anymore.

Speaking of shows with story arcs, I'm finally caught up on "Veronica Mars" and wow. Just... wow. I was a bit worried that it would be a little too dependent on a specific arc, but the writers are doing a fantastic job of tossing layer after layer of mystery on the storyline.

Now I'm in the same position I was with BtVS and AtS, where I want to know spoilers, but I don't want to be spoiled... because I love watching it all unravel on the screen. I think I may go with the spoiler-lite thing: no active spoiler searching, but I won't avoid it if friends are talking about it. Unlike BtVS and AtS, I'm not paranoid about what the writers and producers are going to do to any of the characters. Trust really makes a difference.

And is anyone else still indulging in the guilty pleasure that is "Desperate Housewives"? Interesting stuff this week... and man, is Zack one scary kid... with a very scary father. Did anyone else think there were quote marks around "Dad" when he used the term with his father toward the end of the show? It's just the way he said it... almost in a mocking or sarcastic way. I really wonder what's going on with that family... and whether they're tied in any way to what Mike is looking for. And who is the body in that toy box? And where is Dana? If it wasn't already painfully obvious, I'm such a sucker for story arcs.

I can't wait to get home so I can catch up on "24" -- my grandmother doesn't get FOX or UPN (thank heavens VM has been reruns).

Oh, I'm stuck on that show too! But what gets me, beyond curiousity of what happened is the narrative at the end, how they comment on the behaviours. I loved this week, how they wrapped it up with how we all grow up and need to be responsible adults, no one knows better than the children (what they did not say is the adults that resist the most)

Yes I cauhgt the "dad" bit, but what is this about body in the toy box? Was that in this week's episode, or when they talked about Dana before?

Nope, it was from a few weeks ago... at the very end of an episode, we got to see the police talking about the body found in the toybox (the one that Zach's dad dug up from under the pool and tossed in the lake). I'd assumed, along with most of the rest of the audience, I'm sure, that it would be a child's body (probably Dana), and the police were talking about it being an adult.

Holy crud! How did I miss all that! Darned other things that distract me when the TV is on.

Hee. Exactly. I'm not actively looking for VM spoilers, but I'm okay with casting news, and episodes descriptions and such. And this is only because I trust the writing team. I can wait and see where they're going with the story without worrying they'll screw up.

It's quite refreshing after a decade of mistrusting XF and Buffy writers. :)

First, let me thank you for the separate cuts. I didn't watch tonight's medium... though, neither did I tape it, so spoilers or no spoilers is rather moot for me. I fear I won't be able to catch up because I haven't watched last week's episode yet.

And my wife is hooked on Veronica Mars, and I'm starting to be... that's on tonight, no?

The reason I commented was for DH. A resounding HELL YES, I'm still hooked on that show.

I did pick up on the "dad". I didn't think he was scary until he started blackmailing his own father, a murderer... And why did he come clean with Zack anyway??

I suspect that the rich guy's daughter (Denise?), whom he paid Mike to find out about, is the one in the box... Or not. They've already proven to have more complicated and subtle sub-plots than may at first be apparent.

Can't... get... enough.... need... new... episode...

And hello? Stalker George? I'm going to just have to assume from now on that any new character they introduce is messed up in some way or another.

Goes to show, everyone has Secrets.

I have just recently begun indulging in Desperate Housewives.

And yes, Zack is one scary kid. That "Dad" (see, quotation marks!) was telling. So I think he's not really Zack's Dad. And...

Agh. I wish I could see the stuff I'm only picking up through dropped hints and "previously on Desperate Housewives".

I've been indulging in Desperate Housewives and Veronica Mars. Also this season of 24 rocks! I think it is the best one yet!

Still watching Desperate Housewives, and agreeing with all you said. Although, I'm not sure I think Zack is scary exactly. I get weird vibes, but I don't know what they're from. And I have a feeling that Paul really isn't his dad too, but more than that I don't know.

ok, i need help with Veronica Mars. Near the beginning, there was a guy, friends with Duncan and Logan, who was interested in Veronica. What happened to him?

And why did she order a DNA test to see if Kane was her father? I missed like two episodes and I'm all confused!

Although, it looks like they're in a repeat loop, so I might get to find out...
