It was 12 years ago today that I finally bit the bullet, got an invite code from [profile] reginaspina (because they were still required at the time)and posted a lame first entry. It's changed a lot here over the years, but I still consider it my online home!

Now, onto the good stuff.

2014 Goals: The Followup...

You can check here to see the list as it was written at the first of last year, but here's the results:

1) Post a photo a day - Well, that lasted about half the year, until I got behind in posting and then spent a little over a week without internet access, getting even more behind... to the point of throwing in the towel. Bummer.

2) Finally learn to use the Inkle Loom. - I did it!!! I have a project on the loom right now and I'm working on making some bookmarks! Woot!

3) Do the equivalent of walking 40 minutes three times a week. - Accomplished! Having things like Runtastic that reports my activity to Facebook and now having a Fitbit has made this a lot easier, because I feel like I'm a bit more accountable... I mean, people will *know* if I'm being lazy and not working out like I should be.

4) Read at least one book from my Teetering Pile every month. - Hmm. Not sure about this one. I think I did it, but somewhere along the line, I quit updating GoodReads with what I finished. I'm almost positive I finished 12 books last year (and how sad is that... only twelve?!?). So, um, call this one Unconfirmed but Plausible? (To borrow some Mythbusters terms.)

5) Use everything from our produce delivery each week. - This one was hit or miss, but overall a success. For the most part, I cleared out the produce drawer each week, but would sometimes get behind when I was sick or out of town. Gonna call it a win that could use more work.

6) Start and finish one knitting project. - Fail, although it still feels a bit like a win. I didn't start a knitting project, but did pick up the one I was working on when we were in our car accident... and I didn't finish it, but it's very nearly done.

7) Donate blood four times. - Accomplished!!! Really glad I had this one on the list, because it made me pay attention to the calendar a bit more... not as much of a chance to miss an opportunity to donate.

8) Print a copy of this list and post it somewhere I can see it and remember all of these things. - um, sort of a fail. I figured this one would be a nice freebie accomplishment and I did print the list that very day... and then it sort of floated around the house from pile to pile and never did get posted anywhere.

And now... onto my Goals for 2015.

I'm copying a lot of goals from last year, simply because I'd like to do them again and actually having them announced somewhere seems to be a good thing:

1) Continue to do the equivalent of walking 40 minutes, three times a week.
2) Read at least one book from my Teetering Pile every month and post about it on GoodReads.
3) Donate blood four times.
4) Post to Livejournal at least twice a week (should be easy if I do some of my other goals).
5) Prepare at least one new recipe a week from my vast collection of cookbooks and, in particular, from my grandmother's recipe box. And post about it!
6) Work on doing my old Physical Therapy shoulder exercises twice a week. I've noticed a definite downhill turn to the strength in my shoulders and think it may be time for a "tune up" by returning to what got them working after the accident in the first place.
7) What the heck, print a copy of this list and let it drift around the house all year, occasionally reminding me that I have goals. (Okay, really, I'm going to attempt the "posting them where I can see them" thing again.)
Edited to add one more goal
8) Design, build and install a Little Free Library in the front yard. I've been wanting to do it since we moved in, so it needs to be done this year!

I found this year that having challenged a couple friends to post an update every month on our blogs kept me thinking about the goals. Which is why I think this last year was the best I ever did at accomplishing them/making progress on them.

FWIW. YMMV.
