You know you're in Montana when...

fenchurch...You pass a Safeway grocery store with a locally made banner ad that uses a pun based on big-game hunting.
Not that I'll be in Montana for much longer. I made it to Missoula at around midnight last night -- right around the time I started feeling tired and with the weather turning bad for the first time on the drive (fog AND freezing rain, very weird combo), very good timing.
Yesterday afternoon, while I was rushing around doing some last minute errands for my grandmother before I headed out, I'd tuned in to a local radio talk show. Two women who really don't have radio voices, at all, talking about local headlines -- it was pretty fun to listen to, actually. At one point, they apparently have a regular feature with a lady who comes in to share recipes and such... so one of the hosts asked how she was planning to prepare her turkey for Thanksgiving.
Recipe Lady replied (with that Country Idaho Drawl): "Oh, we're having gay men this year. I just love gay men."
I *swear* that's exactly what it sounded like she said... I did a moment of "Wha-huh????"
So, I sat there in the car trying to figure out what the hell she was talking about... and finally one of the hosts said "So, how *do* you cook game hens?" Game hens. Which makes sooo much more sense. But still, every time Recipe Lady said it, she munged the words together like that (with no "s" on the end, as near as I could tell). It still makes me laugh a bit to think about.
Anyway, I'm about to load all my stuff in the car and head out to my dad's, north of Spokane.![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
rackham should already be on his way from Seattle, and we'll probably both arrive at the same time.
