17 June - Kentucky Pastureland
Jun. 27th, 2014 04:13 pmI probably should have just tacked this on to the previous entry. On Tuesday, the 17th,
nmissi and I hopped in the car and headed east... out to Paris, Kentucky. I had a few reasons for wanting to go... in part, because despite having visited a number of times, I'd still seen very little of Kentucky and wanted to venture out a bit more. Also, it was really hot and there was air conditioning in the car... but the real reason is something that only fellow Geocachers will really understand. I had a Travelbug that wanted to visit places named Paris.
On the way, we stopped off at a rest area so I could find the Geocaches hidden there. In fact, I ended up running into a family of cachers at a rest area on that trip after overhearing them talk about trying to find the cache there... and, in an even bigger coincidence, it turned out that before moving to Kentucky they'd actually lived just up the road from us at our old house. It's such a small world.
Anyway, this particular rest area had a fantastic view of some nearby horsefarms.
