May 23 & 24 - Sidewalk art & a shy lizard
Jun. 4th, 2014 10:49 amWhile out running errands on the 23rd, I stumbled across this nice bit of sidewalk chalk art.

This was right outside a fabric store and, near as I could tell, was probably done by a slightly older child keeping herself/himself entertained while the parental unit was shopping. Still, it brightened my day.
On the 24th, I dived headlong into yardwork, but
rackham was still recovering from The Plague and decided he really needed to make sure he didn't over-do it. So, he spent time working on projects around the house... including cleaning the lizard tank! This involved putting poor Muerte into a box off to the side, so the entire tank could be vacuumed and wiped down. After Rackham was done, he opened the box and stuck it in the tank, assuming Muerte would be happy to be free of it. Turned out, he liked the box just fine!

One of the other things Rackham did was to wrap the fake greenery around the new climbing stick we'd bought... after Muerte finally made his way out of the box, he's been spending a LOT of time on that stick. We suspect he feels a lot more comfortable there now that he can be "hidden" by the leaves. Kinda nice getting to see him more... since before he tended to hide out underneath his old piece of wood.
