14 May - Spellchecker, anyone?

fenchurchOkay, this is a quick one... on Wednesday, we got the new blinds for the dining room (aka the office) and they're wonderful! They're light dimming, but not blackout blinds... meaning we still get some nice light in the room, but it's not so bad we can't see the monitors sitting in front of them when the sun is shining. I was rather excited when the box arrived, but I kid you not... the VERY first thing I noticed, before the delivery guy had even finished handing it over to me, was this:
Is this some new portmanteau? Am I supposed to meditate on it right away if it's damaged? What?? I know I have an Editor Brain and it's not the sort of thing you can shut off, but that word was absolutely glaring out at me in all its misspelled glory. *sigh*
Does no one proofread these things before they print them? Or even send them through a simple spell checker? This sort of thing really shouldn't happen anymore.
