4 & 6 May - Flowers!!
May. 12th, 2014 09:13 pmI'm posting one just a bit out of order, simply because these two are related. On the 4th, I decided to grab a shot of one of the surprises in our yard... for some reason, it had completely escaped me that we had lilacs!

I think maybe it's because they're not as robust as the ones I remember from my teenage years living around Spokane (either that or they're a different type of lilac? I don't know), but I really hadn't noticed that's what they were until the flowers bloomed. Love the way they smell!!
And, skipping ahead two days, I wanted to get a photo of the front planter area, out near our mailbox. I'd forgotten those purple flowers were there and had planted daffodil and tulip bulbs. Aside from being a tad overgrown, I think the different types of flowers actually look pretty good together! Of course, with my luck, it'll turn out the purple flowers are really a weed I should have pulled before they had a chance to bloom or something. Have I mentioned that, as much as I enjoy gardening, I'm completely clueless about it...
