1 & 2 May - Summer and Spring
May. 10th, 2014 10:46 pmNeither of these two photos is wildly interesting, so I thought I'd hurry things along by posting them together.
On Thursday, the 1st of May, we had to turn our air conditioning on for the first time this year! It managed to get up into the 80s outside (not a record-breaker, but close) before I finally couldn't handle the heat anymore and turned on the AC (btw, this is the spiffy new thermostat they installed when we had the ancient furnace replaced last year... love this thing).

On Friday, I thought it was time to get a good photo of this year's crop of chives. They've pretty much taken over the area next to the stairs. I'm thinking next year, I may look at digging several clumps out and donating them to the Duvall Plant and Garden Art Sale. But they sure are pretty... and tasty! Normally, I would have tried to snip the heads off before the flowers had a chance to bloom... but they sort of exploded while we were gone. And yes, pretty much all the plants you see there are chives (I can spot a couple of weeds) and there are actually more of them all around this spot. The invasion is nearly complete!
