Once again, catching up on photos
Mar. 20th, 2014 12:51 pm*sigh*
You know, I suppose I should be happy that I'm at least being good about *taking* the photos, even if I'm made of fail when it comes to posting them on a regular basis. So, to save everyone from having to scroll through a pile of entries, I'm going to do a bit of combining
12 March - Beyond his wildest geekish dreams.
Last Wednesday, I was upstairs fiddling around on my computer and realized I hadn't seen
rackham for a bit... so I wandered down to the basement and just had a get a shot of this. Laying on the loveseat, under the blankets and playing LEGO Lord of the Rings on the big screen. The things geekish dreams are made of.

13 March - Birdhouses on the Trail
Last thursday turned out to be surprisingly sunny, so I decided to go after a newish Geocache out on the Tolt Pipeline Trail and make a nice hike out of it. I spotted these birdhouses on a fence along the trail not far from where I parked... they're all ceramic and I'm guessing were made by the homeowner. It's hard to tell, but the one on the far end is designed to look like a beehive.

14 March - The Remnants of Soup Night.
Every month or so,
tomte and
gidgiddoni throw a "Soup Night" at their place... preparing a number of wonderful soups and inviting people over, asking that they bring a bowl and spoon and maybe some bread or something to share. I meant to take a photo before we got started this time, but everything smelled too good and I forgot.

So, on the front row on the left is clam chowder (I hear it was good, but it had cow's milk, so I skipped it). Next to that is the Kale, Sweet Potato and Sausage soup that
rackham and I brought... and on the far right is the absolutely fantastic Cinnamon Beef Noodle (always a big hit... I really need to try making it sometime).
On the back row on the left is actually part of the dessert... Fruktsoppa (aka fruit soup, one of Tomte's recipes from the Swedish side of her family and oh so good!) and on the right was Lentil Stew.
Off in the very back of the counter you can see the red ceramic pie plate that used to hold the apple-pear crisp I whipped up out of what we had on hand earlier in the day.
15 March - A trip to Ikea
And now for a slightly more boring photo... in line at the Ikea checkout with our haul: Four padded chairs to go around the table in the basement (and serve as extra seating for movie viewing), covers for the chairs, a new storage bookcase for the AV equipment in the basement and some extra shelves for it.
