It's foggy!! I love that about this area, though when it gets this thick it can be kind of scary (it was bad enough tonight I couldn't see more than half a block in front of me). Of course, it's nowhere near as bad as Sacramento, California, thankfully -- I swear that city lives in perpetual dank darkness throughout the winter. At least our fog is broken up by nearly constant drizzly rain and the occasional freakish sunbreak.
Yesterday, I had to take a bit of a detour from my normal route up to Woodinville, and happened to pass the "other" Safeway grocery store (we have two about equi-distant, but I never shop at that one, if I even bother with Safeway in the first place). The Other Safeway was remodeled about a year or so ago and had a gas station added, and for no particular reason other than location and travel routes, I'd not actually set foot in the store since then.
Well, I noticed that the gas prices were a good five to ten cents cheaper than other stations in the area. That's enough of a difference to pull me off the beaten path, and I knew I had a Safeway card around somewhere with my real name (yes, I'm one of those paranoid people who give fake names to grocery stores... just call me Trisha McMillan) that I could probably find if I put my mind to it.
I just got back from filling up my car (at 11:00 at night, I know, I know... but I hate leaving my car nearly empty) and the incredibly good news is that the price listed was the non-member price! Yep, take off another three cents per gallon -- I'm guessing they may be rivaling the prices at the CostCo down in Tukwila, with the added bonus of being just up the road. Yay! I'm too easily pleased, I think.
Even better, the store itself is pretty nifty. Nice looking deli, made to order sandwiches, fresh soups... I think I may have to head up there for lunch from time to time.
