If I thought we had to be up obscenely early on Sunday, then Saturday proved me wrong. After finally falling asleep around 1:00am (because of course I knew I needed to sleep and of course that meant I couldn't get my brain to shut up), we had to get up at 3:00am to get ready for our flights out. Ugh. Although, to be honest, I probably did a whole lot better with just two hours of sleep than I would have if I'd had four or five (as it was, it felt like I'd had a really good nap, rather than having a night's sleep be interrupted). Also on the plus side, we discovered at the airport that we'd been upgraded to first class!! I'd never flown first class before and wow... was it NICE. I even managed to take a couple of short cat naps (something I can never seem to do in regular airplane seats). We had a nice layover at Chicago O'Hare Airport... shockingly, my first visit there (I usually fly Southwest, which goes through Midway) and I found an even bigger light wall than the one at Dulles!
I was trying to catch it with all of the neon lights going across the ceiling, but it never seemed to want to oblige. Still, it was very impressive and very pretty.
