We started off Wednesday over at EPCOT... which, of course, meant I got to go on my favorite ride of all time (not to be confused with my favorite roller coaster), Mission: Space! I also got to have lunch at one of my favorite Disney World restaurants, the buffet over in Germany, where I got to eat my fill of braunschweiger. I think I mentioned last year, when we went for the first time, that I'd tried it and liked it... it was, interestingly enough, the only unlabeled thing on the buffet and at the time I was pretty sure that if I'd known what it was, I probably wouldn't have tried it (and when I finally found out what it was, I knew I was right... but by then I was hooked). I've really got to find a good place locally to pick some up. Need to check that German deli in Bellevue again.
Anyway, we had a fun day riding rides, playing the Phineas and Ferb game and visiting all the countries in the World Showcase, until late in the afternoon when the sky turned absolutely angry with clouds. We managed to get in line for the Maelstrom ride in Norway right before the rain hit... and wow did it hit! I mean, it rains a lot here in the Seattle area, but what most people don't realize is that it's mostly drizzle. The downpours they have in Florida remind me quite a bit of what we used to get when I was a kid on Guam... the sort of thing where even if you have a rain coat and an umbrella, you're still going to end up getting soaked!
I snapped this shot heading back toward Spaceship Earth from the World Showcase (it's been trimmed just a little to crop out some random people in the foreground, but it gives a pretty good idea of the sky around us).
