A beautiful winter day... for kayaking???

While we're not as cold as the rest of the country (or as cold as we were a month ago), it's still a bit on the chilly side. I'd been planning on going for a 30 minute walk at the YMCA's indoor track today, but partway there decided it was too beautiful a day to pass up an outdoor excursion... so I detoured into Woodinville and started walking up the Sammamish River Trail. It was 43°F (which, while not freezing, is a bit brisk) but there wasn't any wind and there *was* a good deal of sun... add in a bit of exertion (I wasn't doing a stroll, I was averaging about a 15 minute mile) and my hoodie was plenty warm!
I got a few shots of the scenery here and there, but had a bit of a surprise come up the river... A kayaker and his dog. Or should that be a dog and his kayaker?
I wish I'd been able to get a better photo, but they really did catch me by surprise... I had to stop walking, open my bag, get out the camera, turn it on and try to focus. The first few shots are *really* blurry, but this one didn't turn out too badly. I have to say, there's absolutely no way you'd get me out on that river in a kayak. Sure, he's staying high and dry, but the slightest problem and he'd be dumped into some VERY cold water. Brrr.
And I know I've posted similar shots before, but I wanted to show off the beautiful day along the trail (in fact, it was so beautiful, I ended up walking for an extra 10 minutes just to enjoy it some more):
