More Trees in the Fog
Jan. 17th, 2014 08:42 pmToday was our second full day with no break in the fog (on Wednesday, it actually cleared out for a bit in the afternoon) and it was considerably colder, but I decided I wanted to go for a short hike anyway. I headed over to Ring Hill Forest to try the trails there (in large part because there are still a few Geocaches in that park that I haven't found yet). So glad I wore my winter coat! It was 38°F and the fog was VERY thick, but it made for a nice brisk walk in the woods.

This was in a slightly clear area, but I just loved the look of the moss-covered tree up the trail.
Overall, the trails weren't too bad today, but there were a few sections of mud that made me very glad I'd worn my water-proof shoes. And then there was this area... where a stream had apparently decided to take the path of least resistance (as they often do) right down the middle of the trail. That was fun to walk around (ha!) but it did make for a pretty picture.
