Election Burnout and Volcanos

I cannot *wait* for November 2nd to come and go so we can get rid of all these FREAKING political ads... I swear, they're the only thing running on local radio and television, and I'm getting heartily sick of them.
Apparently, now that Mount St. Helens is actually producing lava pretty much constantly, it's no longer an interesting story. I've stumbled across a few small stories about how the lava continues to pour out, the dome is building, and the sky is glowing with the lava's reflected light. But do they give us any pictures or footage?? No. Of course not...
I'm guessing the real problem is that there appears to no longer be any danger of a spectacular eruption blowing away half the mountain... the fact that we've got an active volcano spewing actual lava apparently doesn't measure up.

Date: 2004-10-16 01:42 am (UTC)Sing it, sister! It's utterly absurd. We'll have a break between the local news and the national morning programs, for example, and there will be 3-4 ads that run right in a row. I hate living in a battleground state. It's as if we're under assault.

Hey, how're you doing with FS S4? I'm well past the halfway point. I'd only seen most of this season once, so I'm really enjoying the rewatch, especially now that I'm deep into the "real story." (There are some fillery eps right at the beginning.)

Date: 2004-10-16 02:11 am (UTC)wouldn't it be nice if there were a not for profit 3rd party website listing candidate's career histories from the federal right down to the local level? It sure would make the job of being a responsible citizen a bit easier.
Or, I could just be lazy.
