Walking Toby

While I absolutely love my cats, I really do miss having a dog. Thankfully, Numfar has a lot of dog-like traits (she plays fetch, follows me everywhere, comes when she's called, that sort of thing) and, even better, I have friends with dogs... which means every once in awhile, I get to have some quality Dog Time.
Today I got to take
taradaktyl's dog Toby out for a walk (and I just realized that the last time I did this photo a day thing, her late dog Jack was my subject on Day 20, in a very similar pose). Toby's still really young and has OhMyGosh!ENERGY!!! I happen to know for a fact that I walk faster than Taradaktyl and yet I got the distinct impression (by the impatient backward glances and the "pacing" while walking) that I was going nowhere near as fast as Toby would have liked. He really did "pace" while we walked, darting back and forth as we moved forward, meaning he probably covered about three times the distance I did walking straight. This did make him a bit difficult to photograph, but I managed get a few non-blurry shots.
It was, once again, a beautiful clear sunny day... which meant it was also pretty cold. You can see some frost still on the lawn in the background, which is saying a lot considering the sun was shining (that usually melts things pretty quickly around here).
