More random things...
Sep. 30th, 2010 11:51 pmWhen we were in Moses Lake last weekend for the Geocaching event, we headed out from the dinner with a few people to try tackling a nearby Night Cache... our very first one. Those things are SO COOL! There are several ways to do them, but this one used FireTacks Trail Markers to show the path (basically, the listed coordinates for the cache will take you to a place where you can shine a flashlight around until you spot the reflector from the FireTack (which is not as easy as it sounds). You then move to that spot and look for the next FireTack and so on). We ended up having to crawl through a small tunnel of blackberry brambles and it still took us awhile to find the actual cache (which was suitably spooky and very cool). Can't wait to try another one!
Yesterday I was going over ingredients for Feta-stuffed lamb burgers (I'd been planning on having them for dinner last night, but we'll be cooking them up tomorrow night instead) and called
taradaktyl to see if I could swing by her place to grab some parsley from her garden... turns out hers has mostly all gone to seed, but it made me remember that, duh, *I* had parsley growing in my yard this year! I'd completely forgotten! Even better, it's looking pretty robust and has started going to seed, as well (which means I should have more parsley next year). I can't believe I'd forgotten about it. Must spend more time in the yard!
And finally, tonight we watched the pilot episode of "No Ordinary Family." What a fun show! It had good pacing, a great cast and just enough intrigue to keep it interesting. Can't wait to see more of it! Partway through the episode, I turned to
rackham and said about the Dad character "He's nigh invulnerable! All he needs now is a blue suit with antennae and he'd be The Tick!"
