Before we headed home from Portland, we were able to swing by Food Fight, a vegan grocery store, to pick up a few bags of Earth Balance Kettle Chips (the Vegan Cheddar ones and the Vegan Sour Cream and Onion ones... so incredibly good! And dairy free!!). I have no idea why Earth Balance has *still* not rolled those out to the western US (I still haven't had a chance to try the new Earth Balance Vegan Cheddar Squares... the mail order places run out as soon as they get a new shipment). Annoying!

Anyway, we'd finished our shopping and were heading to the counter, when I looked up and spotted this bad boy. )

When we moved in, the roses near the front porch had not been pruned in quite awhile and were overgrowing the sidewalk and, frankly, didn't look very good (they also didn't bloom much last year). Well, [personal profile] rackham thankfully grew up around roses and at least had an idea of what needed to be done. He got out the pruners and seriously cut that sucker back, which was apparently exactly what it had been waiting for. We also discovered that there appears to be more than one type of rose in that bunch.

Pretty white and pink roses. )

On Wednesday, I got to go to Microsoft to do some Usability Testing. I've done this before and it's actually a lot of fun... testing out a product and then, basically, getting interviewed about various aspects of it (what worked, what didn't, what you liked or didn't like and why). But in the waiting area there was one of the best art installations I've ever seen in a corporate setting.

Three to beam up. )
