Poor Obsolete Mouse
Jan. 12th, 2014 09:54 pmAs I wrote about last week, we recently upgraded the hard drives in our computers... and with that, I went ahead and updated to Windows 8.1 (so, sooo much better than Windows 8) from Win7. Things have been going along pretty well and even though I discovered that there were no actual drivers for my mouse for 8.1, it still seemed to be working okay. But as I installed more and more software, I started noticing... issues. The mouse pointer would get stuttery or wouldn't work at all. Shut off certain programs and it ran just fine. Hmph. What it really came down to is that my lovely, wonderful mouse that I've had for eight years had finally reached a point where I needed to retire it. I hooked up the wired mouse from Rackham's computer, while he switched to his smaller travel one and I was back in business... but I'm strangely sad at having to let go of my old mouse friend.

Time to hit Fry's and try out new mice... Mice are nearly as important as keyboards to your computer experience and I want to make absolutely sure I get a new one that's at least as comfortable to use as the old one!
