Back in the swing of things
Jan. 3rd, 2013 10:07 pmI actually made it in to the gym today for the first time in ages... being sick for, wow, nearly three weeks(!) really put a damper on things. I'm still waking up coughing in the morning, but seem to finally be over the worst of it. And I feel MUCH better tonight for having worked out (no big surprise there).

rackham's 17th anniversary at his job... and, per tradition, he took a vacation day (his very first day was January 2nd and he's never worked another one since... at first it was by chance, but after awhile he started doing it on purpose). So, today he loaded up the giganto bowl we bought for just this purpose with seventeen pounds of M&Ms to take to share with his co-workers (that's also something of a tradition in certain quarters where he works... a pound of M&Ms (or something similar) for every year you've worked there).

This evening we went out to find a Geocache to keep the streak alive and ended up traipsing through the forest off the side of a rural road in the freezing rain (mixed with sleet) in the dark. Yeah, that's always fun! Thankfully, we made the find pretty quickly once we finally managed to get to the right spot (there was a small bit of a climb involved). And, of course, the freezing rain started turning to snow as we made our way back to the car. I've said it before, but I swear Geocaching causes insanity! BTW, today marks day 671 for my streak of finding at least one Geocache a day... meaning I've only got 60 more days to go to make it two years (with a leap day). Can't believe I'm almost there!
