For our anniversary this year (number 23, if you can believe it! And, rather gratifyingly, we've gotten a lot of double-takes from people when we've told them which anniversary this is... and one blurted "How old WERE you when you go married?!), we decided it was time to once again head down to Disneyland... especially since our last visit heralded the discovery of my newfound status as a roller coaster junkie (and happened on our last day in the park, so I only got to enjoy a few coasters). Since then, I've been to Disneyworld a few times (and, in fact, we realized that we'd spent our anniversary there last year) and Universal Studios Orlando a couple times, as well, but I've really wanted to come back here.

Disneyland!!!! )

We've also had some great food... but tonight's dinner beats everything, hands down. We were looking for something away from the parks, so I did a Bing search on my phone and one of the restaurants listed on the first page was Fire + Ice Bar and Grill. For some reason, the name intrigued me, so I clicked on the link... and the description intrigued me more. Probably the best way to describe it is as Mongolian Grill Fusion. You've got some of your standard Mongolian Grill fare, but why be boring? Some people were having Philly Cheesesteaks and others had hamburgers with all the toppings (prepared on the big grill with everything else). My first time up, I had shaved sirloin with squash, onions, mushrooms and spinach... cooked in an Island Jerk sauce. Yum! Second time up was shrimp, calamari, tilapia, bacon, mixed vegetables and udon noodles cooked in a garlic, lemon and herb sauce. So, so good! And a really decent price, too. We're planning to go back on Tuesday.

The only other really exciting thing that happened was when we were walking back to California Screamin' from Tower of Terror yesterday and one of the lenses in [personal profile] rackham 's glasses decided to pop out unexpectedly! Thankfully, it didn't get scratched up when it hit the pavement and the tiny screw was still stuck in the frames. We talked to an employee at an information kiosk, who called around a few different places and eventually sent us over to the First Aid center. They had a whole collection of small screwdrivers and Rackham was able to get things put back together in no time. Still, a bit of a surprise!

Been really enjoying the sun here... and glad that it hasn't gotten too horribly hot. It's nice to get a break from the rain.
