Oh, Bones. Why do you have to make me headdesk?

So, um, we watched tonight's episode of Bones, which definitely had its moments... but did seem a bit like someone noticed they had some extra money in the budget and decided it just had to be used to fund some sort of gross out contest for the special effects department. Yeah, we get it. Dead bodies are icky.

But beyond that, I was nearly as embarrassed about the whole "Very Special Canadian Episode" as I was about the "Very Special British Episodes" -- chock-full of as many stereotypes as they could possibly manage. Honestly, I'm surprised they couldn't find a way to work maple leaves and moose into a conversation. But even worse... Casting Department, can you seriously tell me there are NO Canadian actors in Hollywood you could have gotten to play a rather insultingly stereotype-filled Canadian character? The accent was horrible and came across exactly like an American doing a bad job of pretending to be from north of the border. Ugh.

All that being said, there were some fun moments... and I really liked the resolution of the issue with Cam and her daughter.

I keep thinking I should try another one of the books the series is based on, but the last one was so bad I just can't quite bring myself to do it.
