More Joy Day!
Jan. 10th, 2008 11:44 pmA big thank you to the person who sent me the virtual hot cocoa! It looks like there was a lot of that going around today. :-) And a big hug to
sdwolfpup for coming up with More Joy Day in the first place!
( Turns out the fallout from exercising on Tuesday wasn't as bad as I thought... )
Between that and going to see my acupuncturist this afternoon, I'm still feeling a bit zippy tonight!
On the entirely different subject of not understanding my own brain: Last night, as part of a larger dream I no longer remember, I dreamt I was at a local grocery store and discovered they sold bags of Quality Street toffee pennies (by themselves with no other toffees or caramels) and I had a rather unnatural level of excitement over this (as if I'd just found a wad of $100 bills or something). I'm not entirely sure what that was about. I mean, I like toffee pennies, but not THAT much.
And on the subject of true confessions: I'm definitely supporting the writers in their desire to get a better deal on their contracts... but I have to admit that I think "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" may actually be funnier without any scripts. I've always preferred when he does bits like Headlines or Jaywalking or Stuff Found at the 99c Store... but some of the other skits and bits tended to be awkward and not terribly amusing (in particular, those times when they script questions for the audience to ask or, even worse, anything involving Fred Willard or Gilbert Gottfried *shudder*). But this week? Jay actually did some back and forth with the audience, which was refreshingly funny... and they've been doing stuff like going out to local schools and getting kids to answer questions that Jay will then joke about. It's probably a lot of work and a bit more stressful for Jay, but I suspect I'm going to miss it when the writers finally come back.
