My mouff ith kinna numb
Jan. 23rd, 2007 03:58 pmActually, make that the entire lower right part of my face. This is what happens when you finally go to a dentist for the first time in, um, awhile (*cough*tenyears*cough*).
Last week
taradaktyl started going to Curves with me again... she was the one who got me started in the first place, years ago, and it's wonderful being able to chat about things like "Heroes" and "Dresden Files" while we're working out (back when we first started, we chatted BtVS and AtS and, even more specifically, Spike). When we went in on Thursday we bumped into someone Taradaktyl knew... the dental hygienist from her dentist's office. We got to chatting, I got her business card and rather than doing what I'd done for the previous decade, I went straight home and called to make an appointment.
See, that's the thing. I don't have a fear of dentists or anything, and we've had really good dental insurance this whole time... it's just not something I ever thought about much, because my teeth weren't giving me any problems. So, I'd think about the fact that I didn't even have a dentist, and decide I'd definitely go looking for one later. Which turned into never.
( More talk about finding a new dentist after all these years, under the cut. )
