Long day, but lots of fun. Got down the Hyatt and found pretty decent parking fairly quickly... got registered and went straight up to the Heinlein Society Blood Drive. Apparently "business" is booming this year... they're getting swamped enough that they're having problems with incredibly long wait-times. Very good to hear!

The "Serenity" panel was packed and very entertaining, the Buffy Horror Picture Show (aka interactive "Once More, With Feeling") was fantastic and also highly packed with people (they were doing two showings, and both of them were completely full), and the Livejournal panel was a total bust. I waited fifteen minutes for the thing to start and they still just had the panelists all sitting at the front of the room doing nothing. I heard from someone later that it wound up being horribly lame.

I did manage to meet up with [livejournal.com profile] telaryn as well as a few people from Sparklies. Tomorrow, I'm going to see about tracking down the rest of the folks I'd hoped to meet this weekend. I'm also thinking about trying to swing by Stone Mountain if I get a chance... [livejournal.com profile] rosiewook doesn't live too far from it, so it should be doable.

In good news, someone has finally heard from one of the previously unaccounted for friends... and all of her family is safe. Unfortunately, still no word from Dave.

BTW, there is nothing freakier than driving past a good dozen gas stations in half an hour of driving... and ALL of them are out of gas. So glad I got to Atlanta with a full tank. And hopefully things will be okay for our trip back to Louisville on Sunday night.

And that's it for now as I'm incredibly tired and am having trouble typing straight.
