Election Burnout and Volcanos
Oct. 15th, 2004 06:31 pmI cannot *wait* for November 2nd to come and go so we can get rid of all these FREAKING political ads... I swear, they're the only thing running on local radio and television, and I'm getting heartily sick of them.
Apparently, now that Mount St. Helens is actually producing lava pretty much constantly, it's no longer an interesting story. I've stumbled across a few small stories about how the lava continues to pour out, the dome is building, and the sky is glowing with the lava's reflected light. But do they give us any pictures or footage?? No. Of course not...
I'm guessing the real problem is that there appears to no longer be any danger of a spectacular eruption blowing away half the mountain... the fact that we've got an active volcano spewing actual lava apparently doesn't measure up.
