25 Random Things About Me

fenchurchI've been tagged for this by a zillion different people both here on LJ and over on Facebook, however I'm not planning on tagging anyone... if you want to play, consider yourself tagged!
Rules: Once you've been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you.At the end, choose 25 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. If I tagged you, it's because I want to know more about you.
1) I have one near-sighted eye and one far-sighted eye.
2) I have one foot that's a size 8 and one that's a size 10.
3) In the last few years, I've been surprised to discover that I actually enjoy doing yardwork.
4) I can't stand the taste of cantaloupe. The stuff will actually make me gag if I try to eat it, and if it shows up in a dish or salad with other ingredients, I won't even try eating it... because even if I avoid the melon, the rest will have cantaloupe cooties.
5) Even though I can't stand the taste, I love the *smell* of cantaloupe and deep down firmly believe that one day I'll like the flavor, too... so I keep trying it. And gagging.
6) I was 21 before I ever had asparagus. It's now my favorite vegetable.
7) From the age of two (when I first met my great grandparents and became intrigued by their hobbies) until I was about 12, I wanted to be a geologist. Geology still has a fond place in my heart and hobbies.
8) The best thing I ever received in my Christmas stocking as a child was the rock pick I got when I was four years old. I still have it.
9) I was born with spinal meningitis.
10) I've lived in our current house three times longer than I have lived anywhere else in my life.
11) I'm allergic to lavender, but it only causes problems if I eat it.
12) I ran a BBS for six years.
13) I don't like wearing shoes and avoid it whenever possible.
14) Even though it's been three years since the car accident, I still have a hard time watching car crashes on TV or in movies.
15) I played my first game of Dungeons & Dragons when I was 10, at a Camp Fire Girls meeting.
16) I bit my nails every day of my life until I was 22, when I just decided to stop.
17) I can't snap.
18) I still hope to fulfill my childhood dream of going into orbit.
19) As a child, I had an invisible friend who was a winged horse. Her name was Bruneau.
20) I collect classic console systems and games.
21) I can make myself stop hiccuping just by thinking about it.
22) Even though I'm ambidextrous, I can really only use a manual can opener with my left hand (despite the fact that it can be VERY awkward with a non-lefthanded can opener).
23) I used to enjoy camping, but now I can't stand to be away from an internet connection that long.
24) I always check my email before I get out of bed in the morning.
25) I can't wait to streak my hair bright, electric purple again.

Date: 2009-02-13 07:54 am (UTC)And I suppose you could say I collect classic consoles and games, too, but mostly it's just the ones I want to play, rather than a completist approach. :) I'm a big fan of classic NES and SNES. And I miss my Colecovision.
