For friends of Nmissi

Just thought I'd let everyone know that I talked to nmissi earlier today and she and the boys are doing fine. They lost power Tuesday night in the ice storm and as of this evening it still hadn't been restored. Due to the widespread outage (there are several hundred thousand households without power at last check), they're saying the power may be out for 7-10 days in much of the area.

She spent the day getting her house prepped for a long outage and then safely made the trek over to stay with her mom (who still has electricity). Apparently, the roads are really nasty... completely iced over and with lots of downed trees and branches.

Anyway, she wasn't sure if people might be worried after having seen the news out of Kentucky and Indiana and wanted me to pass that info along!

Thanks! I was wondering about her. A friend who blogs out of Ann Arbor often does these maps of power outages in the midwest, and he had just posted a map of the outages in KY and I saw it was in Missi's area.
