In Ontario, Oregon for the night
Jan. 3rd, 2009 10:42 pmWe stopped in Boise for dinner at Chuck-a-Rama. Yes, I know we've been eating at that chain a lot on this trip, but the food really is quite good, it's made from scratch and it's incredibly easy to eat there and still stick to my WW plan (it just takes a tiny bit of self-control, not hard at all). Then we pushed on a bit to the Oregon border... and found a brand spankin' new Holiday Inn Express in Ontario. It even has that "new house" smell.
Looks like the big news on my flist is the new Who... There's no way to tell if he'll be any good, just from looking at the photos available of him. I've never seen him in anything, but that's not uncommon when it comes to actors who play The Doctor. I think he might be a tad too young, but as long as he can pull off being an "old soul" I think I'll be happy. I must admit he looks a bit like a young and slightly freakish Crispin Glover... but if he's got the personality, the look could definitly grow on me.
And finally,
gwyn_r recced a Yuletide story a week or so ago that I wanted to pass along to anyone on my flist who may have missed it: Buckaroo Banzai and the Floydada Scuffle by
vee_fic (and now I need to take a look at some of the other fic archived there). Fun story with spot-on character voices... and it left me wanting more!
