fenchurch | Happy Christmas!!

It's been an incredibly fun day... got to sleep in a bit, but not too late, then opened presents with various in-laws all through the morning with the nephews showing up a little later, after opening gifts at their house first.

We've spent the day playing games and assembling things and I've been eating way too much food (my sister-in-law made some EVIL sugar cookies that kept calling to me). It's been snowing again (and has now started blowing, as well), but it's not like we need to go anywhere. I hear we've had about 18 inches at home, which is way more than here... so hard to believe! We're still not entirely sure when we're going to be able to drive home, because the weather is not looking good along the route well into next week.

Best present this year was probably the collection of four sets of chopsticks my mom gave me. My grandfather bought them for her in Japan on his first tour on the USS Benjamin Stoddert (the ship he served on until he retired) when she was 15... she'd never used or even unpacked them and they're absolutely gorgeous.
