fenchurch: (Christmas Lights)

Finished shopping for stocking stuffers. Yay! Also got the last of the presents wrapped. I think.

Picked up the rest of the things I need to make trifle and got some of it started this evening.

We went out to all-you-can-eat restaurants for both lunch and dinner and I managed to only go 6 Points over my daily allotment (for those not familiar with WW, this is not a bad thing at all... especially considering I earned 5 Activity Points today). Lunch was at Chuck-a-Rama, which is surprisingly easy to fit into WW, but dinner was at Tocanos Brazilian Grill. MUCH harder (since the main attraction there is all the different types of meat). Still, I managed to only snag small bite-size portions from the servers and I left the restaurant feeling maybe a bit more than comfortably full, but not overstuffed. I think next time we go will be even better because it hadn't occurred to me until after the meal was over that I could get a To Go cup for my leftover Brazilian lemonade (they give you a LOT and it's so good, I don't want to waste it).

Picked up all the fabric we need to make a new tree skirt and Christmas stockings. Our old ones were made by my mother-in-law back during the first year Rackham and I were married, so they're heading on toward 20 years old now. They're still in good shape, but they were made with what we liked best out of the Christmas fabric available that year (with "that year" being 1989) and, um, yeah... we've never been particularly fond of what we chose (we didn't hate it or anything, it just wasn't really *us*). I'll be working on the new skirt and stockings throughout this year and they're going to look fantastic!

And now for my official Day 8 entry in to the Eight Days of Happiness:

While I was preparing some of the stuff for the trifle this evening, a butternut squash (which is NOT going into the trifle, in case you were wondering... it's destined for the Roasted Parsnip and Pumpkin Soup) rolled off a nearby countertop and I caught it in mid-air... with my left hand! Woot!! And I really had to reach, so there was full shoulder involvement. I think that's the fastest reaction and fastest movement I've had from that arm since the surgery last year (actually, probably since before the car accident three years ago). I love when I see unexpected signs of improvement and normalcy like this... especially since it seems far too often that I'm still finding areas where my shoulders need a lot of work.

Great news about the reflex catch! That really does show that things are improving well doesn't it?

Merry Christmas! :)

Great news about your arm!

And only 6 Points over? I'm impressed!

Yay for speedy arm movements! (Pointing out that the squash was NOT going into the trifle reminded me of the episode of Friends where Rachael put beef and peas into her trifle...)
