Happy New Year!!
Jan. 1st, 2007 03:06 amNothing exciting here, since we both still have the plague are still sick. The fever I had last night is finally down to a closer-to-normal 99.5F, but
rackham seems to be about a day behind me... he's in the worst of it tonight. So he went to bed early and I sat in the living room watching the Space Needle explode on television while people in the neighborhood here set off illegal fireworks for about a half hour before and after midnight.
In the category of "it's all a matter of perspective," despite both of us being horribly sick... it's still a better New Year's Eve than last year.
I've been having a Torchwood marathon, trying to get caught up before the season finale (the last one I'd seen before this had been "Countrycide"). The show is a bit uneven, but I'm still really enjoying it -- they've managed a few plot twists that have actually surprised me. I think I'll put off watching the Doctor Who Christmas Special until tomorrow, although it's tempting to just stay up a bit longer -- I still feel really awful, but better than I have in days and I know when I wake up in the morning I'll most likely be back to feeling horrible again. Bleh.
Oh, yeah... and we got word from my mother-in-law that, apparently, the day before I started getting really sick one of my sisters-in-law (who had been part of the Christmas festivities) was diagnosed with strep. Honestly, this doesn't feel like strep, but it would sure explain a lot.
