Tuesday on the ferry again
Oct. 17th, 2006 07:45 pmWe're sitting at the aft of the ship, watching the island fade into the mist behind us... We had a wonderful visit, and I would love to go back someday! The Isle of Man is incredibly picturesque, and with quite a lot to do there! We did notice something last night that had somehow escaped us before (probably because we were finally relaxing a bit on the drive between towns): Some of the reflector dots in the center of the road were self-lit! They had what looked to be LEDs lighting the dots around some of the more hazardous corners. Very cool!
We woke up entirely too early this morning, had a small breakfast (yogurt with fruit and muesli), then headed down to the ferry... I commented to Rackham that we'd been on the island for two days and had not seen one Manx cat. A few minutes later, while driving through Glen Mona, one ambled across the road in front of us! So... cats made to order!
(Continued later at the hotel) The day was spent mostly in transit... first on the ferry and then on the motorway. We decided not to bother trying to find the Doctor Who exhibition in Liverpool, which was just as well, since we ended up hitting construction on the M1 and didn't get to our hotel until after 6:00. Plus, to be honest, we're both just a bit tired... tomorrow, we're going to do a bit of shopping and then head to the airport. It's been a really fun vacation, but we're definitely ready to get home again!
