Yeah, apparently. It started happening about three days ago... I'd begin getting really sleepy around 7:00pm and, even though I've worked really hard to stay up until my normal bedtime, I've been waking up earlier and earlier, anyway. Last night, I gave in to the sleepiness and headed to bed around 11:00pm, and woke up this morning at 5:30 (I'm normally a 1:00am-7:00am type of person). This is all just so incredibly weird... since usually? I need *light* in order to wake up, and it's PITCH BLACK here this time of day.

I finally decided last night that unless there's something I desperately need to stay up for, I may as well go to bed early... 8:00pm here is 4:00am in London, so it's not exactly like my body is trying to switch completely, but this could be a good transition method. And it's not because I'm sick or anything, I'm just getting sleepy early.

Still, it all seems very, VERY weird. I'm not used to seeing this time of day.

This is something that works! Ive done it in the past before going to Europe; I can take 2 - 3 hours off the jet lag this way.

Heh! It's very helpful of your body to take things in hand for you :P (One of the best things you can do, also is to force yourself to stay up the first day until it's a reasonable bedtime. DO NOT LET YOURSELF NAP!! It's very tempting, but just a bad, bad idea!)

When are you leaving again?

Oh, we were already planning things we could do to stay awake -- we're just down the road from the Brent Cross Shopping Centre (apparently the largest in England) and it's open until 8:00. If we decide we need something to keep us awake a bit longer, there's an Ikea down the road from our hotel in the other direction that's open until Midnight. I think the plan is to try staying awake until 10:00pm the first night (which is what we did when we went to Australia, I believe).

I even had a dream/slight nightmare a few weeks ago where we'd gotten checked into our hotel and [livejournal.com profile] rackham had decided to just lay down for a minute and had fallen asleep... leaving me effectively trapped in a hotel room while I wanted to go exploring. :-p

We leave Wednesday evening. Day after tomorrow!! Wow. Considering we bought our airline tickets back in May, it really seemed like we'd never get to this point!

If it's not light outside, I have a hard time waking up, too.

Have fun in England! :)
