Off to Portland!

Though it's just a quick overnight trip and we will have wi-fi at the hotel...

mekle's sister is getting married today so we're heading down to help a bit with setup for wedding celebrations and to help take some photos. Tomorrow, we're hoping to fit in a bit of Portland fun before we need to head home (if nothing else, I want to stop by Powell's City of Books -- I love just going in there and breathing deeply. They need to bottle that scent and sell it).

My strongest memory of Portland is that the highway interchanges were designed by crazy roller-coaster designers. I suppose if we ever go there again, I'll have to give Powell's a try.

When?! Where?! I have a lunch appointment with a friend at 3 p.m. but if you have time and want to meet up somewhere for coffee or lunch, that would be so cool! Of course, only if you have the time. :)

I was definitely planning on giving you a call (in fact, I almost mentioned it in my original entry), once we figured out what we were doing and when. We're staying at the Holiday Inn Express out near the airport and are about to head out for dinner at the Izzy's not too far from here... then it's off to the wedding reception.

Tomorrow we're pretty much completely free. We've already hit Penzey's today... I think the only thing really on the docket for tomorrow is a visit to Powell's, so we could definitely see about meeting up!

I'm pretty sure I have your cellphone number... in fact, I may try giving you a call when we head back down to the car on our way to dinner, just to be sure, and we can figure out when and where we can meet up!

I actually have to thank you for the Penzey's rec. We'd never been there before you mentioned it, and this is my dang city!

We frequent it pretty regularly, now. :)
