A few pics from the last week...

At the JadeCon teacup auction this year, I ended up winning a really nifty Star Wars Celebration III throw blanket. I brought it home and tossed it over one of the banana chairs in the living room... where we've discovered that Zoƫ really enjoys curling up under the watchful eye of Darth Vader!

So, [livejournal.com profile] corellian_sugar, did you know you were giving us a darksider cat?

Our passionfruit plant has sprouted four flowers so far, most of which just fell off. However, we discovered a few weeks ago that we actually have one fruit growing! Squee!!!! Now we just have to hope it'll reach maturity...

And, lastly, I've been really pleased with the availability of imported foods around the area... one of our local grocery stores even started carrying Fantastic brand rice crackers recently and they've carried Vegemite forever (shelving it over with the peanut butter and Nutella and other spreads). Earlier this week, however, I stumbled across this in the baking section (pic taken with my cellphone).

When grocery shelving policies go horribly awry... because, heaven knows I always use Marmite on cake! *shudder*

Zoe obviously understands that the REAL Darth Vader has nothing to do with WhineMaster Anakin.

That's actually quite a Darthlike look in her eye. :-)

Hmm, mix a little marmite and almond paste and spread it on! ;)

Ewwwww... That really did just stop me cold. I have no idea what they were thinking, except perhaps that they had no clue what Marmite actually is.

BTW, one of these times when I'm in Louisville, we'll have to see about meeting up for lunch or dinner or something... I mentioned the idea to Missi last week right before I left, but I didn't think about it until right before I was due to fly home!

They probably saw "yeast" on the ingredient label, and thought OK, baking supply it is. Hopefully next year will be calmer, with construction complete, Uthfest earlier in the summer, so when everyone is making the con rounds I can maybe mosey along or something...

I can't get over how much your Zoe looks like my Alex (aka fat kitty bumpus). They could be twins. It's bizarre.

They have the same "what the hell are you lookin' at?" expression as well. V. weird.

OMG! They can't tell Marmite from Marzipan.

What a beautiful cat.

A teaspoonful of Marmite is OK in savoury, cheese, scones... but I can think of no other reason for it to be anywhere near baking stuff....weird.
