Back in Minneapolis

fenchurchMy flight landed at the B Concourse, which meant I got to ride the fairly cool tram all the way to the other end of the airport... I still haven't seen Minneapolis, but I can now say that I've seen the outside of the airport!
As for the flight... that was possibly the bumpiest landing I've ever been through. It was a small plane (two rows, two seats wide), and we bounced all over the place on approach, rolled to the side a few times and headed into the airport nose down and FAST. I wasn't entirely sure the pilot would get the plane into proper landing position in time... he did, but it was quite the jolt and bounce, followed by excessive braking (we could hear all of the stuff in the overhead bins sliding very quickly toward the front of the plane). We got here safely, but wow.
Another 2+ hour layover, so I deemed it worthwhile to get the wi-fi access (I paid less for it than I would for a paperback, so I don't feel too bad).

rackham pulled me into an IM conversation with taradaktyl's husband (who will be picking me up at the airport) so we could coordinate our schedules. It's just... neat.
ETA: One interesting thing here at Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport is that The Body Shop in the mini-mall part of the concourse is closed (temporarily, they say). I thought that was a tad odd. I mean, yeah... I don't believe they sell too many things that can be carried onto a plane at the moment, but I'd think that they'd be doing booming business from people who have just landed and want to get some good shampoo and lotion. Apparently not enough.
Also, several of the shops have gotten smart and are selling smaller bottles of water, in addition to the mondo ones they usually carry. After all, who wants to buy a giganto bottle of water, when you've only got an hour or so in which to drink it?
