Feeling silly...

I just posted something a little bit ago to seeking_spike and ended up deleting it about fifteen minutes later.

Why? Well, because after wracking my brain for a fic with a particular scene with some particular lines in it (the memory of it sparked by an exchange between Jack Sparrow and Elizabeth in POTC2, which we finally got a chance to see tonight), I figured I would probably need some help... wrote up the description and posted it to that community. It was something along the lines of: It had a scene that was with a post-resurrection Buffy basically throwing Spike's words from FFL back at him, only about how he's actually getting off a bit on being a hero... and that "some part of [him] wants it" because he's "just a little bit in love with it."

Then I realized I could probably try doing a search of the fanfic directory on my hard drive, since I did have a pretty good idea about a specific line from the fic in question.

D'oh!

Yeah, it's from a fic I reread. Often.

"Necessary Evils" by rahirah. Odds are actually pretty good I helped beta that chapter.

Hey, at least it wasn't by anaross this time! (For awhile there, it seems like every fic I was looking for but couldn't quite remember, ended up being one of hers... to the point where now I just check there first!)

LOL! Well, it's REALLY good. You should be aware, though, that it's the sequel to another story, "A Raising in the Sun" (http://sleepingjaguars.com/buffy/raiseintro.htm), which is shorter but just as good.

Yeah, that's actually what I'm doing right now. I clicked the link, saw it was a sequel so I went back to the start of her site and proceeded to find the first one. I'm on chapter 5 of it right now.

Just had to say I've actually read Barb's story. I thoroughly enjoyed her series, and sometime I should check back at her site to see if she's gotten any more chapters up. I didn't know you'd helped beta that story. Excellent!

Unfortunately not--I've been working on another project that's something of a creativity suck. I have managed to do some short stories set in the same universe, though.
